NH Research 9410-8 Regenerative Grid Simulator
The NH Research NHR 9410-8 is a bi-directional, versatile four-quadrant AC/DC grid simulator designed for grid-tied product testing, including PV inverter testing. Due to its programmable phase outputs and ability to regenerate power back to the facility's mains, it produces less heat. It can produce up to 8 kW of DC and 8 kW of AC power (21 kVA). The device features multiple current settings (6A and 30A per phase) and a peak current capacity up to three times the RMS rating. It can operate within a fixed frequency range of 30 to 100 Hz, with the ability to extend up to 880 Hz.
The NHR 9410-8 offers improved reactive power capability and actual power (kW) and apparent power (kVA) ratings. It allows testing to be done smoothly across a wide voltage range while retaining full true power in the presence of reactive power or harmonics. This makes it perfect for evaluating products in contexts where the power factor may fluctuate greatly, such as in real-world settings with variable power conditions. Because of its HiVAR design, the system can accommodate 2.6 times more reactive power per kW, which makes it ideal for items that need to be tested for both active and reactive power.
Multiple grid anomalies can be replicated with the help of this grid simulator's robust disturbance modeling tools. With its graphical waveform editor, users can design and save unique waveforms to replicate non-sinusoidal voltages, fleeting occurrences, and other anomalies. Moreover, sequence-based testing is provided via pre-programmed macros, which enable exact control of phase and voltage conditions to satisfy industry requirements.
With high-resolution waveform digitization at 1 MS/sec for real-time analysis, the NHR 9410-8 has an advanced digital measurement system. External instruments are not necessary because it incorporates measurement equipment like oscilloscopes and digital multimeters. It provides complete power testing solutions with features including harmonic current limit analysis, grid disconnection timing, and power ramp-up timing.
